Music stored inside Wi-Fi/USB-connected iPhone/iPod touch/iPad devices can be transmitted to the "CDJ-2000nexus" using the iOS version of "rekordbox™" (available on the App Store free of charge) for DJ play. The touch panel displays of iPads, etc. can be used for intuitive music selection with controls that users will already be familiar with. In addition, the enclosed Mac version of "rekordbox™" can be used to send music to the "CDJ-2000nexus" from inside a Wi-Fi-connected Mac. Also, when connecting via USB, the device can be charged during DJ play. Android OS devices can send music via Wi-Fi/USB connections using the Android version of "rekordbox™" (available on the Google Play free of charge), and music can also be transmitted from Windows PCs via Wi-Fi connections using the enclosed Windows version of "rekordbox™".

Music files can be analyzed with "rekordbox™" installed on a computer, music can be managed (settings, create/edit, save logs) in the optimum way for DJ play, and the music to be used can be prepared in advance. The "CDJ-2000nexus" features new music file analysis functions such as "WAVE ZOOM (waveform expansion)" and "KEY" as well as new "ACTIVE LOOP" and "HOT CUE AUTO LOAD" settings.

By using an iPhone with the rekordbox™ for (iOS) installed, the iPhone can be used for preparation and management of music used in DJ play through features such as playlist creation, cue/loop point settings, beat location settings, waveform analysis, and so on. Also, by wirelessly transmitting to an iPhone music that has been managed with the "rekordbox™"*2 for Mac, preparations can be made while on the move or at one's destination, and music information configured on iPhone can be wirelessly transmitted*3 to computers.

Full-color LCD display for quick song selection and instant understanding of musical progress
The "CDJ-2000nexus" adopts a large 6.1-inch full-color LCD to clearly display information that is required when performing DJ play. Music artwork and large quantities of music information are displayed in lists, and the intended music can be found easily and intuitively. In addition to the existing "WAVE" display that provides a visual understanding of all music, "WAVE ZOOM" makes it possible to instantly grasp the preceding music development by displaying waveforms that can be expanded/minimized to five different levels color-coded according to bandwidth.

"SLIP" and "QUANTIZE"*4 functions for reliable performance without changing progress of original music

While inheriting the audio circuit from the "CDJ-2000", this new device delivers a powerful sound that is stable even in high-volume environments such as DJ booths by means of improved anti-shock properties and reduced contact resistance through the adoption of a type of AC inlet that has a large power cable contact area. A clear and powerful sound that is faithful to the original has also been realized by reducing jitter to 1/4 through the high-precision engineered clock of a high-performance D/A converter produced by Wolfson Microelectronics, adoption of a high sound quality operational amplifier, and digital noise reduction of power sources.

By adopting a new high-performance crystal oscillator while retaining the high sound quality design of the "DJM-900nexus" base model, the amount of jitter in the master clock, which is the standard for digital audio processing, has been reduced to approximately 1/4 of the previous amount, and the processing precision of features such as A/D conversion, D/A conversion and DSP has also been improved. Additionally, further power supply stabilization delivers high sound quality playback that is even more faithful to the source material.

A high-end USB sound card with 24 bit/96 kHz sound and 4 IN/4 OUT
Equipped with a USB sound card*5 that can simultaneously input and output stereo sound from 4 input and 4 output terminals. The sound card supports signal processing at a high resolution of 24 bit/96 kHz and can input and output each audio signals without degrading quality. Furthermore, the setting utility tool*6 for PCs makes it possible to change the output signal path from the mixer to accommodate various situations, including DJing, track recording, and other work. Furthermore, smooth transitions between DJs are possible thanks to the USB ports installed on the unit’s top surface.

Various effect functions to achieve a wide range of song arrangements
SOUND COLOR FX adds three new types of effects (SPACE, DUB ECHO, and GATE/COMP) to the conventional FILTER, CRUSH, and NOISE effects. Simply turn the knob to achieve the desired effect. This makes various types of remixes possible, including adding original arrangements to songs. The BEAT EFFECT function also has two new effects (SPIRAL and MELODIC), which opens up a wider spectrum of song arrangements. The mixer is also equipped with an X-PAD for intuitive touch operation. The X-PAD makes it possible to manipulate multiple parameters simultaneously and achieve the desired performance.

Newly developed high-performance channel fader
The slide mechanism supports the fader knobs with two metal shafts to enable smooth operability without looseness, while achieving approximately three times longer durability compared to Pioneer’s earlier model (DJM-800). Furthermore, the adoption of newly available faders constrains to a minimum any influence to the faders’ internal parts due to liquid or dust.

The PRO DJ LINK function to enhance DJ performances
Connecting the unit via LAN cable to a PRO DJ LINK-compatible Pioneer DJ player (CDJ-2000,CDJ-900 firmware Ver.4.00 or later*7) or to a PC with rekordbox™ installed, a song’s BPM information and beat location information can be obtained from the DJ player or rekordbox™*8. This precise BPM information allows effects to be applied without getting off the beat. Furthermore, the built-in quantize mode compensates for BEAT EFFECT operation timing errors automatically, so effects matched to the beat can be applied.

RMX-1000 Remix Station is an innovative technologically advanced device for enhancing DJ performances with its ability to create and add a variety of new and unique remix effects, as well as rhythmic sampling capabilities. The RMX-1000 incorporates four remixing functions: Isolate FX, Scene FX, X-Pad FX and Release FX for simple musical arrangements with intuitive control, all accessible at the user’s fingertips. The device includes Pioneer's remixbox™ editing software to enable users to customize almost every function and feature of the unit. The system can also act as a USB controller when used with the included VST/AU RMX-1000 Plug-in software.

The compact and portable RMX-1000 allows users free control of musical developments with intuitive operation. Four sections of the device are arranged with easy-to-control knobs and buttons that control multiple effect parameters. By combining the effects from each section, wider arrangements with greater individuality can be performed with ease.

Scene FX
In the Scene FX section, users can choose between five Build Up effects and five Break Down effects. The Build Up effects, consisting of BPF ECHO, ECHO, NOISE, SPIRAL UP and REVERB UP, add sounds, while Break Down effects, consisting of HPF ECHO, LPF ECHO, CRUSH ECHO, SPIRAL DOWN and REVERB DOWN, cut sounds. A large knob increases or decreases the parameter of effects chosen by simply turning the knob. Two sub-parameters knobs are also available for additional changes to the effects being produced.

Isolate FX
The Isolate FX section, consisting of three individual knobs, processes the low, mid and high frequency bands of the music passing through. The section is loaded with three effects in addition to an Isolator, providing rhythm patterns, timbre, etc., letting users freely modify the output for the HI/MID/LOW frequency bands. In addition to the Isolator, three additional effects in the section are available including CUT/ADD, TRANS/ROLL and GATE/DRIVE.

X-Pad FX
The device features a touch pad section called the X-PAD FX that enables users to develop and add new sounds not found in the original music. In addition to its four built-in audio samples, KICK, SNARE, CLAP and HI HAT, other audio samples edited in Pioneer’s remixbox software can be loaded using an SD card (not included) during DJ play.

Release FX
The system also includes a Release FX lever that eliminates the current music playing and leaves only the sound effects. Release FX can also be used to create the opposite effect: When the lever is released, all section effects are eliminated while the original music continues to play. Three types of Release FX are available including Vinyl Brake, Echo, and Back Spin.
Customization Using Remixbox Software
The included remixbox software allows the user to customize various settings of the RMX-1000 on a computer, changing parameters such as volume output and values for different sections of the device. The customized settings can then be transferred using an SD card for use with other RMX-1000s.

Virtual Studio Technology/Audio Units Plug-in
Using the included RMX-1000Plugin VST/AU1 plug-in software, users can create the same type of music production and effects while DJing on a computer. In addition, connecting the device to a computer enables it to act as a controller for music production.
