Onkyo RZ Series overview

Achieve 4K Ultra HD pass-through plus HDR and 3D support via HDMI with the Onkyo TX-RZ820 7.2-Channel Network A/V Receiver. It produces up to 130W of power per discrete channel at 8 Ohms for room-filling sound. AccuEQ sound optimization will allow you to tailor the sound to your room's specific acoustics.

Built-in Bluetooth connectivity lets you listen to music wirelessly from your favorite Bluetooth-capable devices while built-in Wi-Fi connectivity provides access to your Spotify or TIDAL apps. You can also attach a USB drive to the USB port on the back panel to play your stored multimedia files. The TX-RZ820 is equipped with seven HDMI inputs and two HDMI outputs. One of the HDMI outputs supports ARC for the reproduction of TV-based audio, such as your TV's built-in apps.

THX Certified Select Reference Sound

THX Certified Select is designed to guarantee the same high-volume sound you experience at a commercial theater in your home. THX Certified Select components are suited to rooms where the screen-to-seat viewing distance is approximately 10' and the room volume is approximately 2000 ft³.

Dolby Atmos and DTS:X Object-Based Surround Sound

The TX-RZ820 reproduces 5.2.2-channel Dolby Atmos or DTS:X formats, with AccuReflex correcting the phase of direct and indirect sounds for cohesive audio imaging with Dolby Atmos-enabled speakers.

Upmixing Solutions for Legacy Soundtracks

DTS Neural:X identifies spatial effects in multichannel soundtracks and upmixes for 3D playback through object-audio-ready speaker systems. Dolby Surround also upmixes legacy sound formats so you can experience multidimensional playback of legacy sound formats in a Dolby Atmos environment.

FireConnect Wireless Multi-Room Audio

Any audio source can be connected to the receiver to be sent wirelessly via FireConnect, powered by Blackfire, to an optional compatible speaker placed anywhere in your home. Music selection, speaker grouping, and playback management across the home are built into the Onkyo Controller app for iOS and Android.

Enhanced Connectivity for Custom Setups

With 7.2-channel pre-outs, a 12V trigger, IR input, and an optional rack-mount kit, the TX-RZ820 is designed to easily integrate other components (such as outboard amps) to create a full wired multi-room setup thanks to powered Zone 2A/2B and Zone 2/3 pre-/line outputs governed by a Whole Home Audio Mode and supported within the Onkyo Controller app. RS-232 and IP control via LAN are ready for home automation systems.

Wi-Fi, AirPlay, Spotify, and Bluetooth

Selectable 5 GHz/2.4 GHz Wi-Fi helps ensure stable connectivity so you can enjoy smooth streaming over AirPlay, the Spotify app, and the local network. Bluetooth wireless technology also provides streaming from your choice of music application.

Internet Radio and Streaming Services

TIDAL, Deezer, Pandora, and TuneIn are onboard to help make selecting from a range of music and radio programs using the Onkyo Controller app simple.

HDR10, HLG, Dolby Vision, BT.2020, 4K/60 Hz, and HDCP 2.2 Support

The six rear HDMI terminals support pass-through of HDR10, HLG (Hybrid Log-Gamma), Dolby Vision, BT.2020 4K pass-through, 4K/60 Hz video playback, and HDCP 2.2 for premium video content. HDMI I/O also supports 3D, Deep Color, x.v.Color, LipSync, DVD-Audio, SACD, multichannel PCM, and analog-to-HDMI upconversion. Further, a front HDMI terminal is convenient for video camera connection, while the Zone 2 output distributes home theater video to a display in a second room.

Multi-Zone Audio and Video

Pre-outs for Zone 3 and powered Zone 2A/B capability provide distributed audio options throughout the home backed by dedicated Zone 2 and Zone 3 DACs.

VLSC Noiseless Audio Processing

Vector Linear Shaping Circuitry (VLSC) is designed to remove digital pulse noise for a smooth analog signal. The TX-RZ820 focuses VLSC on the front left and right channels. Data is converted between sampling points, and these points are joined with analog vectors in real time to produce a smooth output wave form. The result is a virtually noiseless, smooth, analog signal based on the digital source.
