The VMC -004 XL is Vestax's first non 19" 4 channel entry level mixer with high end features. This mixer is just under 13" and 6 rack spaces. This is Vestax's most inexpensive four channel mixer ever made.

Each channel has a 5 segment LED meter which allows you to adjust each channel to match the exact level of the main channel; this allows you to transfer from one channel to another hearing a change in the music & not a change in volume. This feature is critical if you plan to make mix CD's.

The crossfader has 2 curve settings. One is a sharp slope, the other is normal slope. When the switch is in the LEFT position, the crossfader will have a long curve fading in & out smoothly. This is perfect for mixing house, techno & trance. If the switch is in the RIGHT position, the fader will have a sharp curve, allowing for quick punch-ins which is ideal for hip-hop & Drum & Bass.

The Vestax VMC-004 XL also has one of the most advance headphone monitoring systems in the world. The mixer has CUE SELECT as well as CUE/MASTER mix knob which allows you to mix in the headphones by selecting any of the channels and mixing it in with any level of the master.

MULTI INPUT 4 CHANNEL MIXER
The total of 10 OUTPUT CHANNELS (phono×4, line stereo×4, mic×2) and 2 stereo outputs that can set master volumes individually has been applied to this model to live up to the DJ scene today where both analog turntables and CD players are becoming a necessity.

MASTER OUT
1 also includes a volume control, and the entire output system has been enhanced while still in its compact form.

INPUT LED METER and TRIM control
Each designated channel has an input LED meter, and trim control, allowing to double check input levels on the fly.

THREE BAND ISOLATER LIGHT
Not an equalizer, but a 16 dB/oct ISOLATER LIGHT, a first in its class has been added to each and every channel to allow top sound and performance quality.

CF ASSIGN SWITCH
By using the three point switch, the cross fader can be assigned to any channel allowing several creative mixing ways and source use.

The rotary and slide faders exclusively from ALPS for Vestax have been a standard, however the cross fader may be upgraded to the plastic conductive fader, CF-PCV.

The VESTAX VMC-004 XL includes a cross fader switch allowing you to adjust the curves for either a smooth long mix or for a cutting in/out mix.

With a rotary style switch, the MONITOR, in stereo can be handled in a swift and selective way.

The PHONO EQUALIZER uses the same technology used for our professional series mixers.

Terminals and head phone jacks have been reinforced with a metal sleeve and various other parts for durability and longevity.

The new compact mixer has been designed with a rack angle unit that can be taken on/off to transform into an in-house mixer and with an original adapter, can be placed into a 19" rack.

The Vestax CF-PCV Cross Fader has been tested to 2 million passes without audible loss of quality. (Normal high quality faders often "die" after only 100,000 passes)

VESTAX VMC-004 XL FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS:

1.WHAT DOES PCV MEAN ?
PCV Faders (Plastic Conductive Volume) up to now mainly were used in very high class studio mixers. The big advantage is a duration of (tested) 2million passes without audible loss of quality whereas Standard high class faders die after about 100.000 passes.

2. WILL I BE ABLE TO HEAR THE CHANGE OF THE SOUND THROUGH THE SOUND CONTROL IN MY HEADPHONES ?
The new design structure of the mixer and the monitor circuit also enables you to monitor every sound change you are setting on your Isolator controls.

3. WHAT ARE THE FREQUENCY CUT AND BOOSTS IN THE EQ SECTION?
The VMC-004 XL has a full 3-band Isolator tone control on each channel which allows a infinite cut and a boost of 6 dB on each frequency range.

4. CAN I REPLACE THE EXISTING CROSSFADER WITH A ”PRO” FADER WITH ADJUSTABLE CURVE CONTROL?
The crossfader for the VMC-004 XL has exceptional smoothnessfor a mixer in it’s price range and you are able to replace it by either a standard Vestax crossfader CF-R; CF-RUS or the short way crossfader CF-S (20mm) But most important is that you can replace by the top level PCV-crossfader CF-PCV.
